The Missouri Association of Homes for the Aging represents providers of health care, housing and services for Missouri’s elderly.

We believe Missouri’s long-term care system should be characterized by a continuum of quality care, housing and services that meet the comprehensive needs of older adults in the most cost-effective, appropriate and least-restrictive setting.

Our programs, services and public policy efforts are dedicated to the achievement of this vision.

Senate Bill 616 gives Missouri seniors and their loved ones who are seeking assisted living arrangements better options, strong safety procedures and improves the reliability of information provided by assisted living facilities.  I would like to thank the Missouri Association of Homes for the Aging for working with Senator Bill Stouffer to pass this landmark legislation.

                                                   -Missouri Governor Matt Blunt

I want to thank our friends at the . . . Missouri Association of Homes for the Aging for their tireless work on the [Assisted Living] bill.  This bill gives seniors, their families and loved ones the care, the security and the safety they expect and deserve.  Our seniors will have better choices and the ability to work together with their caregivers to customize care.  I am proud to have worked with the senior advocacy groups to preserve Missouri seniors' health care and dignity.

                                                            -Lt. Governor Peter Kinder
