MDS QI/QM Data on Nursing Home Compare - Information Added 10/29/10
CMS has announced that the last MDS QI/QM update will be published on Nursing Home Compare in January 2011.  This last update will be based on the last quarter of MDS 2.0.  After that, there will be no public reporting on Nursing Home Compare until approximately spring 2012.  Since the next scheduled update after January would be April 2011 (based on the current quarter update cycle) the QM data will remain until April.  Effective April 2011 the QM's will not be part of the 5 Star Calculation, so the 5 Star rating will only be based on the survey and staffing data.  CMS has not yet decided whether to keep the QM data posted vs. removing it from Nursing Home Compare.  The anticipated date for the initial publishing of MDS 3.0 based QM data on NHC is sometime in the spring of 2012.
